Privacy Policy

Important: Fulcanelli provides earthquake and space-weather monitoring for pattern analysis and education. It does not predict earthquakes or claim scientific causation.
This policy describes how the Fulcanelli iOS app (“the App”) handles information when you use our services.
Information we collect
We do not require an account. The App may process:
- Location (optional): If you enable “Show my location on map,” the App uses your device location only while the App is in use to display your position on the map. Location is not sold or used for advertising.
- Device preferences: Filter settings, map preferences, and notification preferences stored locally on your device.
- Notification tokens: If you enable push notifications, Apple’s notification service delivers alerts to your device. We do not collect a separate user profile for notifications.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Data from third-party sources
The App fetches public and licensed monitoring data, including:
- USGS — earthquake feeds
- NOAA SWPC — planetary K-index and space weather indicators
- Tomsk Schumann spectrogram (optional imagery) — public monitoring feed
- Fulcanelli Intelligence API (quakewatch-ios.onrender.com) — pre-generated Earth Intelligence briefings shared by all users
Requests to these services may include your IP address as part of normal internet communication. We do not attach your identity to those requests.
AI-generated content
Daily Earth Intelligence reports may be generated on our server from public monitoring data. The same cached summary is served to all users to limit cost and API usage. Premium live analyst features (when available) send your question and a snapshot of current monitoring data to our server for a one-time response — not stored as a user profile.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not use cross-app tracking or advertising identifiers.
- We do not claim to predict earthquakes.
Data retention
Preferences and cached briefings are stored on your device until you delete the App or clear app data. Server-side briefings are cached globally without user identifiers.
Your choices
- Disable location in iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Fulcanelli.
- Disable notifications in the App or in iOS Settings.
- Delete the App to remove locally stored preferences.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do.
